Original Six era! 6 great teams with real stars many of whom became future HHOF members. Maurice Richard The Rocket, Jean Beliveau, Jacques Plante, "Mr Hockey" Gordie Howe, Andy Bathgate, The big "M" Frank Mahovlich, young Bobby Hull "The Golden Jet", Terry Sawchuk... and many other famous names.
1959-60 season became memorable as a season when The Habs had won The Stanley Cup for 5 times consecutively. As you know this is an "eternal" hockey record. Also it was the last season for magnificent Maurice Richard.

The 1959/60 New York Rangers season was the 34th season for the team in the National Hockey League (NHL). In the regular season, the Rangers had a 17-38-15 record, and finished with 49 points. Their last-place finish caused them to miss the NHL playoffs. Nevereless great players of the Rangers like always played very well and kept fans hopes about team's future. It was legendary Andy Bathgate who was actually just a second player after Boom-Boom who used slap-shot and brilliant "Gump" in the Rangers net.

After 1957 and 1958 finals and semis of 1959 hard times for Bruins had begun.
In 1959/60 season the team finished it on 5th place and it meant being out of play off. Anyway only 3 points advantage allowed Detroit to reach 4th place and play off. In spite of a poor season Boston had great players who were real stars. For example forward Bronco Horwath who scored 39 goals and made 41 assists and a brilliant defenseman Leo Boivin. As usual in the net played a real great goalie veteran Charlie Lumley - one of the "iron men" of NHL Original six era.
